Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave Expansion Pass: Price & Waves

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have announced the Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Expansion Pass for Nintendo Switch 2 — and Wave 1 is available right now. The three-wave DLC plan launched on October 15, 2026, less than a month after the base game's September 17 debut.

The pass costs $34.99, with a game-plus-pass bundle at $105. Here's what each wave includes and whether it's worth buying.

Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave Expansion Pass: Price and Waves

The Expansion Pass is sold exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop and covers all three content waves:

  • Wave 1 — available now (October 15, 2026): four prototype weapons for the four heroes, modeled after the Heroes' Relics from Fire Emblem: Three Houses
  • Wave 2 — holiday 2026: wearable outfits for the four protagonists (also equippable by allies) plus three new playable allies — Aurora, Smyrnos, and Jurah, the gods who once ruled Dagda
  • Wave 3 — 2027: new story content centered on the rivals Bertrand, Talimun, Orchel, and Anatolia, plus new allies, classes, and more

Wave 1: Prototype Relic Weapons

Wave 1 is the smallest of the three drops but the most pointed piece of fan service. Each of the four heroes gets a prototype weapon modeled on a Heroes' Relic from Three Houses:

  • Dietrich — sword based on Byleth's Sword of the Creator
  • Cai — spear based on Dimitri's Areadbhar
  • Theodora — bow based on Claude's Failnaught
  • Leda — axe based on Edelgard's Aymr

Fortune's Weave is set in the Dagdan Empire, and tying its first DLC to the series' most beloved recent entry is a clear play to pull lapsed Three Houses players back in.

Wave 2 and Wave 3: Gods, Outfits, and New Stories

Wave 2, due this holiday season, is the more substantial mid-point: three playable god-allies with powers beyond ordinary mortals, recruitable for battles in the story's final act, plus alternate outfits for the heroes. Timing it around the final act gives late-game teams a genuine shake-up — and gives anyone who already finished the campaign a reason to reload a late save.

Wave 3 arrives in 2027 as the biggest drop: new story content exploring the four rivals encountered during the Heroic Games, alongside new allies and classes.

Is the Expansion Pass Worth It?

At $34.99 for three waves, the pass follows Nintendo's standard Fire Emblem DLC pricing. Wave 1 alone is thin — four weapons — so the value hinges on Waves 2 and 3 delivering. If you're still working through the campaign, buying now means the Wave 2 gods and outfits will land while you're in the endgame. If you finished the story already, waiting for Wave 3's story content might be the smarter play.

How much is the Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave Expansion Pass?

$34.99 for all three waves. A bundle with the base game costs $105. Regional eShop pricing varies.

What does Wave 1 of the Expansion Pass include?

Four prototype weapons for the four heroes, each modeled after a Heroes' Relic from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It's available now.

When do Wave 2 and Wave 3 release?

Wave 2 arrives holiday 2026 with outfits and three god allies; Wave 3 follows in 2027 with new story content, allies, and classes.

Is the Expansion Pass on original Switch?

No — it's exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2, like the base game.
