The toy-box shooter HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed gets its biggest Nintendo Switch update ever today — and it's completely free. Developer Digital Cybercherries confirmed the patch lands on October 15, 2026, finally bringing the Switch version level with Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation.

The headline is full crossplay, but the content list is enormous: a story mode, six bosses, three maps, five weapons, and more. Here's the full breakdown.

Switch players can now match with friends on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation — the single most-requested feature since launch. Getting here took five years: the small team moved the game to a newer version of Unreal Engine and rebuilt its networking from scratch for crossplay.

  • 6 new enemy types: Ninja Joe, Tiny Trotters, bRobot, Alien Queen, Alien Queenlet, Shock Soldiers
  • 3 new maps: The Funderdome, Adventure Dunes, Rental Lair
  • 5 new weapons: Freeze Ray, Missile Launcher, Double Barrelled Machine Gun, Mine Launcher, Teleport Gun
  • 2 new characters: Major Evil and Teddy the Teddy Bear (with 6 skins)
  • New modes: Infection, Capture the Battery, King of the Hill — plus overhauled Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch

There's also a completely overhauled UI with new play and lobby menus, new skins and heads across the roster, and a full character customization rebuild with engine, networking, and localization upgrades throughout.
