Sony has lined up new PlayStation hardware for GTA 6 launch day. The PlayStation Pulse wireless headset in White and Midnight Black launches November 19, 2026, the same day Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Key Takeaways

  • The PlayStation Pulse wireless headset in White and Midnight Black launches November 19, 2026.
  • The PS5 Pulse headset costs $99.99 in the US and £89.99 in the UK, with pre-orders opening October 29, 2026.
  • Sony says the new Pulse headsets use larger planar magnetic drivers for fuller bass and clearer directional sound.
  • GTA VI-themed PS5 DualSense controllers also launch November 19, priced at $84.99 each.

What is the new PS5 Pulse headset?

The new PS5 Pulse headset is Sony's updated wireless headset for PlayStation 5, sold in White and Midnight Black. Sony says superior sound quality stays at the heart of the lineup, with custom studio-inspired planar magnetic drivers that give better sound separation and spatial accuracy, so footsteps and reloads in shooters are easier to place.

Larger planar drivers have been added to the PlayStation Pulse and Pulse Edge headsets, which Sony says creates fuller, deeper bass while keeping the clean sound players know from the Pulse Elite.

How much does the PS5 Pulse headset cost?

The PlayStation Pulse wireless headset costs $99.99 in the US, £89.99 in the UK, €99.99 in Europe and ¥15,980 in Japan. Pre-orders open October 29, 2026 at 10am local time through PlayStation Direct where available and participating retailers.

Launch countries listed by Sony include the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the UK and much of Europe, including Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Austria, Portugal, Luxembourg, Iceland, Israel and Ukraine. What about the GTA 6 DualSense controllers?

Sony has also confirmed GTA VI-themed PS5 DualSense controllers for November 19, 2026, in black and white, priced at $84.99 each. Paired with the Pulse headset launch, Sony is clearly pitching November 19 as a hardware refresh day for players heading back to Vice City.

That timing also fits the wider GTA 6 rush: PS5 sales in the US rose 22 percent in September 2026 according to Circana data, with hardware revenue up 43 percent, and the PS5 Pro in short supply at major retailers ahead of launch.
